How to hang it

      ❄ Winter-proof this window, deposit-safe

Close thermal panels at dusk, open them on sunny days, and seal gaps with fixes that peel off in spring.

      1. Seal the gaps

Press removable rope caulk into gaps around the sash. It peels off by hand when it warms up.

      2. Add window film

Shrink film on double-sided tape adds an air layer. Tape can lift weak paint, so test a hidden corner first.

      Medium
      3. Block the floor draft

A slide-on draft stopper under the door: no adhesive, no screws, gone in seconds.

      Questions renters ask

How wide should a curtain rod be?

Extend the rod about 8–12 inches past each side of the window frame so open curtains stack off the glass and let in light. Tap-in brackets sit on the trim, so they add only a few inches.

How high should I hang curtains?

About two-thirds of the way from the top of the window frame to the ceiling makes windows look taller. In a rental, tap-in or adhesive brackets or a tension rod avoid drilling.

How many curtain panels do I need?

Multiply the rod width by the fullness (2× is standard) and divide by the panel width, then round up to a pair.

What length curtains should I buy?

Pick the standard length (63, 84, 95, 96, 108 in…) just over your measured length and hem the rest with no-sew hem tape.

Do thermal curtains help in winter?

Thick, lined panels that reach the sill or floor and are closed at night cut the drafts you feel near the glass. Pair them with removable gap seals for the biggest difference.

How do I keep a window cool in summer without drilling?

Close blackout panels on the sunny side in the afternoon, add a light-filtering paper shade that sticks to the frame, or use static cling film that goes on with water and peels off at move-out.

How do I hang holiday lights on a window without nails?

Drape curtain lights or garland over the curtain rod, or hang them from clear suction cup hooks on the glass. Use static window clings instead of tape, and flameless LED tea lights near curtains.

Can I hang curtains without drilling?

Yes: a tension rod inside the frame, tap-in brackets that sit on the window trim, or adhesive brackets for lighter curtains. Check the weight limit on each listing.
